Prosumer:
A prosumer is a person who consumes and produces; the term is a combination of the words producer and consumer. It links to the wikinomics theory, which is how the internet and online technologies have changed how and who can make money globally.
Wikinomics:
Wikinomics is the way that the internet has changhed and who and how people and businesses can make money online.

Globalisation:
Globalisation is the consumption of media products on media products on a global scale. Some have argued that media is actually a partial cause of globalisation rather than just another globalised industry.
Web-utopianism:
Those who see online and social media technologies as a benefit to society and believe that social media and web 2.0 allows societies to come together to promote social good or the utopian deal.
Web-utopianism is an internet sub category of technological utopianism and the belief that online communication helps bring about a more decentralised, democratic and librarian society.
David Gauntlett: Geographical boundaries are non existent thanks to social media and connectivity.
Global Village theory: Marshall McLuhan:
In his book 'unterstanding media: the extensions of man', he suggested that one day we would live in a global village where owing to the advancements in technologies, we would be more interconnected with one another.
USP: Unique selling point: The aspects of a product that male it stand out from its competitors.
UGC: User generated content: The media content made by prosumers in the digital age. It links to wikinomics; a former consumer making products and putting it online.
Folksonomy: A system of sharing ideas across an online community. Achieved through geo-tagging, sharing and tagging people. (folk-community, taxonomy- system). It is a portmanteau (a word made up of 2 words)
Social media metrics/measurements: Analysis of the number of people accessing posts. Use tools such as sprout social to ensure enough people are seeing your message. Also, Social blade gives users access to analytics to any content on a global scale.
Social media aggregation: Using tools to pull together online content so it is released across different social media to maximise the message you are sending.
